The 411

The 411 is the leading source of local information for the First Fridays community.

First Fridays attendees have told us that “Looking for general information”, “Research”, and “Finding information oriented toward the Black community” are among the most popular reasons for them to go online.

The 411 is an archive of member- and editor-driven locally focused content for the Bay Area African-American community. The 411 is a resource for the First Fridays community to research questions such as: “What neighborhood in Oakland is most comfortable for African-Americans?” “Which San Francisco public middle schools are best?” ‘I’m moving to San Jose. Where can I get my hair cut?” “My wife is looking for Black OB/GYN near Burlingame. Does anyone have any suggestions?” The 411 is a trusted, moderated, online source for community news, information and recommendations.
